Rockefeller Park Greenhouse Signage

The City of Cleveland and IKM Architecture partnered to renovate the historic Rockefeller Park Greenhouse and adjacent admin buildings, including new signage to distinguish staff areas from public park space while honoring the site’s historic character.

After meeting with stakeholders, I audited existing park signage, identifying key elements like the red Tree of Life symbol and green lattice pattern. With no digital assets available, I used Adobe Fonts’ Visual Search to match the original typeface and recreated the graphics in Illustrator.

I presented blade sign concepts inspired by existing styles. The Admin Office chose a design featuring a perforated Tree of Life cutout, while Urban Forestry selected a bold vertical sign with matching brackets. I collaborated with a local fabricator to ensure feasibility and prep files for production. The project’s success led to an expanded site-wide signage scope.
